Is anyone out there unsettled by toxic products just sitting around the house? If this is the case, drop off these nuisances, as well as fear, at ToxAway Day, Saturday August 11 from 9 a.m. until 2 pm. This drop off will be held at Butler’s Hinkle Fieldhouse. ToxDrop annually aids Hoosiers in properly disposing of over 1 million pounds of toxic wastes. By properly disposing of these products, both the environment and health are sustained. Some of the everyday, yet un-environmentally-friendly, items which can be dropped off include:
-fire extinguishers
-used cooking oil
-lead acid batteries
-pool chemicals
This progressive and convenient approach to recycling will hopefully continue to have a significant impact on the amount of waste not accumulating in landfills and sewers over time. This option broadens the sustainable living horizon for all those concerned for the future of our earth.
