The IUPUI campus is taking a step in the green direction this fall. The Office of Sustainability received a grant from Keep America Beautiful and the Coca-Cola Foundation, which allowed them to purchase 305 single stream recycling bins. The bins will be placed in each housing unit on campus, which is home to 812 students. The hope is that this will increase recycling by eliminating the confusion around sorting and what can or cannot be recycled. The campus is also inaugurating a sustainability themed housing unit this fall. All of this is part of an initiative to create a sustainable environment for students.
