The League of American Bicyclists announced that four Indiana businesses have been added to their Bicycle Friendly Business list for the fall of 2012. The businesses include: Angie’s List and A1 Cyclery of Indianapolis, Summit City Bicycles and Fitness of Fort Wayne, and DePuy Orthopaedicsof Warsaw.
Summit City Bicycles earned a silver award, while Angie’s List, A1 Cyclery, and DePuy Orthopedics earned bronze awards. Lincoln Financial Group also earned an honorable mention.
“Being named a bicycle-friendly community or employer allows you to say ‘We’re progressive and we care about health, fitness, the environment, and livable communities,’” said Nancy Tibbett, executive director of Bicycle Indiana.
Bicycle Indiana is a nonprofit membership program that promotes bicycling in Indiana by educating cyclists and by advocating bicycling laws, infrastructures, and programs. The Bicycle Friendly America program awards communities, businesses, and universities that support bicycling by providing safe, bike-friendly options.
