IPL’s mission statement reads, “IPL will provide financial grants to not-for-profit organizations for projects that will preserve, protect, enhance or restore environmental and biological resources throughout IPL’s operating territory.”
IPL and WIBC 93.1 FM are teaming up with this mission statement in the forefront of their minds and offering a 10,000 dollar grant for non profits and governmental organizations with a project designed to make their community a better place. In fact, many grants are being handed out: $1,000 grants to 10 finalists and whopping $10,000 grants for the top 3 finalists! IPL has long practiced encouraging individuals in the community to improve the environment in which they are living. Since 1993, $1.2 million in grants has been awarded organizations with a goal to enhance the community.
This opportunity not only functions to launch an practical idea, it also serves to bring the IPL area a variety of input from those it serves, and the benefit of a fresh perspective from the grant winner. The IPL area includes these counties: Boone, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Johnson, Marion, Morgan, Pike, and Shelby.
The deadline for submission is Sunday, September 9th by midnight, so put your thinking caps on to cook up the next big grant getting idea!
