Indiana Humanities: $24.95

I have worked with David Hoppe for almost 20 years and have happily lapped up every word he’s ever written. So how much fun is this: a book full of stories by him, all about food. Not just food, though, Indiana food!

This is a beautiful book, about locally made nourishment and local people. Filled with evocative portraits by Kristin Hess, it’s a statewide celebration of conscious living — and eating. If you’re into the local food movement, you’ll see some familiar faces (Joe Vuskovich, Kay Grimm and Sue Spicer, Regina Mehallick, etc.), but Hoppe’s book shares the story of more than 80 people who are contributing to the growing food movement.

As if that wasn’t enough, proceeds from this book go toward funding humanities programs through the Indiana Humanities Council.

More wins than I count!
