Are satellite dishes considered electronics for recycling? We *finally* got DVR and they replaced our really old dish in the process. The installers left it as it was “ours to do with what we wanted.” I contacted DirectTV as the dish came from them to no avail. Despite having a sustainability program and talking all about recycling they too put it back on us.
Thanks for your help- this is a recording
Welcome to the 21st Century where we have all kinds of inventions that make old technology obsolete. Luckily these items can be deconstructed, recycled and turned into more stuff.
To celebrate Earth Month, RecycleForce is hosting more than 30 recycling events in Central Indiana and Ohio. Load up your satellite dish, 8-track player, Commodore 64, and any number of random items they will accept and help RecycleForce continue to create jobs for ex-offenders.
A special shout out for event hosts who reached out to me to spread the word:
- Laura, University of Indianapolis, April 20, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Jon, JCC Earth Day Celebration, April 21, 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
As an equal opportunity recycler, I’d also like to mention that you can find other electronics recyclers throughout the state through Indiana Recycling Coalitions EcoPoint.
